Wellness

Baldwin Wallace University offers a menu of programs and services designed to help you stay healthy and stay fit. Yes, you're a super busy college student now, but BW wellness programs and facilities help you to establish healthy habits and to take good care of yourself. If you do need health services, we have those too!

Recreation and Fitness

Ready to get moving? Inside the Lou Higgins Center, located on the north end of campus, directly across from the George Finnie Stadium, the 170,000 square foot student recreation center offers a fitness center, dance studio, swimming pool, volleyball, racquetball courts, an indoor batting cage, weight room, basketball, and more.

You have access to free personal training sessions and free group classes with instructors in Pilates, yoga, water aerobics, boot camp, kickboxing and indoor cycling.

An Outdoor Adventures Program plans fresh air activities to get your blood pumping including kayaking, rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, sailing, whitewater adventures, skiing, and camping trips throughout the year.

Health & Counseling Services

Baldwin Wallace University Health & Counseling Services provides comprehensive healthcare to students including evaluation and treatment of illnesses and injuries. Anyone enrolled in at least one class is eligible for services at the Health Center and insurance is NOT necessary.

There is no charge to see a nurse or physician, and charges for medications, lab work, injections, and physicals may be paid for with cash, check or Jacket Express. For emergencies (and peace of mind), Southwest General Hospital is just a half mile east up Bagley Road.

The Counseling Center offers individual and group counseling, psycho-educational workshops and outreach events to help students get the most out of their college experience. BW also partners with national providers of telemedicine behavioral health services. Students have access to these services free of charge.

  • TAO (online self-help therapy resource) is available to BW students 24/7. Sign up through the MyBW Counseling Services page.
  • TimelyCare powered by TimelyMD a 24/7 telehealth medical and mental health support service with live doctors. Medical visits, (24/7 care) TalkNow visits (24/7 mental health support). Go to timely.md and register with your student email address. Mobile users will be directed to download the TimelyMD app. TimelyMD physicians and counselors can treat wide range of common conditions, including: cold, sinus infection, flu, stress and anxiety, relationships, and depression.

We CARE About Wise Choices

BW's Center for Awareness, Resilience and Education (CARE) plans educational activities and resources to encourage healthy choices that keep Baldwin Wallace students safe. We also have trained peer educators who help highlight responsible choices related to sex, drugs, alcohol and other wellness issues.
